Year 5-8 Athletics Day

The Year 5-8 Athletics Day is coming up on Wednesday 23 October on the Senior Campus. All Year 5-8 children will take part and compete in all seven events and then the House Relay. The emphasis is on having a go, doing your best and trying your hardest (=EXCELLENCE – our term value).

Finals Evening: For those that finish in the top five on Athletics Day, we have the Year 5-8 Finals on Tuesday 29th October from 4.30pm-7.15pm on the Senior Campus also.

Aims Games Team travel today

Our team of 28 students, two Year 9 Umpires and 15 support coaches/parents/managers travel today to Tauranga for the 16th Aims Games – International Sporting Championship for Year 7/8 Students. There will be over 11,500 competitors in 23 Sports from 368 schools form over New Zealand an the Pacific!

We are competing in 11 sports with our athletes competing tomorrow in Gymnastics, Cross country and Rock Climbing. We then go to the Opening Ceremony with 5000 other athletes (there are two of these ceremonies!). On Monday we have Hockey, Swimming, Tennis, Futsal and Badminton competitors underway as well as Rock Climbing continuing. The tournament goes till Friday and we fly back to Christchurch next Saturday.

We thank God for the gifts and talents of these students and the opportunity to be a light for Him at the tournament.

Love Tennis-Opawa Tennis Club Registration and Open Days this weekend.

This weekend, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September, between 1 – 4 pm is our Love Tennis Open Day
🎾 Come along to register and play. Drop-in for three minutes or stay the full three hours. Find out about coaching and Inter club options.
🎾 Junior Members: are welcome both days, however, Seniors have their social play on the Saturday  so more courts will be available on the Sunday. If you are unsure if your child should remain in Hot Shots or move onto Inter club please still register and send your query to Andrea Andrea will be sending out pre-season Inter Club training times on Monday the 9th. This is an opportunity for all players to come and see the coaches to sort teams.
