Year 5-8 South Zone Cross Country Results

Well done to our 47 runners who took part today in the South Zone Cross Country at Halswell Quarry. After the rain last night the course was a bit slippery and there was a creek to negotiate but the overhead conditions were perfect.

There was some very strong competition but Hillview had some great results, especially in the longer boys’ races where Elliot Graves and Toby Meecham were 1st and 2nd in the Year 7 Boys 3000m with Henry Copeland 6th and Ethan Lorgelly 7th. Then in the Year 8 Boys we took 1st to 5th, with Matthew Fairhall doing a “puddle pass” to beat Max Blockey into 2nd. Zachary Landers was third ahead of Noah Davis and Duncan McCall in 4th and 5th.

Earlier in the day Bonnie Graves had a gutsy race to take 2nd in the Year 5 Girls and Silas Jones was a close 7th in the Year 5 Boys, the same place Willow Cook took in the Year 8 Girls and Ethan Logelly.
