SMART Touch Teams – 3rd Draft

We have tried to put 140 children into 19 touch teams – please find the first draft of teams here: Hillview SMART Touch Teams 2017

There will probably be a few changes and also the Coaches/Managers will be named soon too. Some girls are playing in two teams at this stage as we don’t have enough girls to get all the boys in teams – each team must have at least three girls on the field.

Koru Games Bronze for Netballers

From Coach Lu Te Hae,,,
Had a fabulous time at Koru Games.  Weather was good all 3 days …:yayy.
We lost our major Semi Final against Queenspark who went onto win the Final.
Our girls came third out of 32 teams. So proud of them all. They have done Hillview Christian School proud!
Thankyou for allowing me to take this great bunch of girls out to tournament!
The girls are in great spirits.

Lots of Love and Blessings ❤

Koru Games Update

Our Year 7/8 Netball has been competing in the Koru Games in Selwyn for the past two days. They have been playing at a very high standard (winning all of their 7 pool games with closest game a 27-5 win) and when I visited them yesterday I saw them put on 22 unanswered goals in a 10 minute half of very high quality play.

Today they will have much tougher opposition today as they play Woodend in their quarterfinal at 10.00am and then a semi (hopefully) against St. Margarets or Queenspark at 11.00am with the Bronze Medal match at 12.30pm or the grand final at 1.00pm.

We pray that the team will have peace and try their best and be a witness, wheter they lose or win. The games are being played at the Selwyn Netball Centre in Lincoln.

We also have three Year 7 girls enjoying playing in a mixed Rugby Sevens team. Thye were playing very well against some huge opposition but they were giving of their best.

Awesome Orienteers

Well done to our Orienteering team on a great effort today at the Canterbury Schools Sprint Champs at Ferrymead Park. Apart from some great performances the best thing was that all of our competitors completed the course without any errors – fantastic.

Congratulations to Abbie Irvine/Ayla Prangell and Michael Winder/Oliver Trengrove who both won their sections. Full results are here: 2017-Canty-Schools-Sprint-Ferrymead

A big thanks to our parents who were very encouraging and supportive!

A smaller number of students contested the Long Course Champs on Sunday at Spencer Park. Lily Norton/Susannah Regnault and Eddie Hitchens won their grades, well done, Results are here:  2017-Canty-Schools-Long-Spencerville2
