Sam Meecham marvelous again

Sam Meecham again proved too strong for all of the Primary and CAIMS (Canterbury Association of Intermediate and Middle Schools) runners yesterday at the Primary Sports Canterbury Cross Country championships at Roto Kohatu Reserve. He lead from start to finish to win the Year 8 Boys’ grade. Both Matthew Fairhall and Max Blockley had strong races in the Year 7 Boys’ race to finish 15th and 21st.

Y0-4 Cross Country Challenge Results

We are very thankful to God for such great weather for our Year 0-4 Cross Country Challenge yesterday. We had 343 children take part from 14 school and all students tried very hard and seemed to enjoy the experience.

The Hillview runners all did so well and we had four individual winners and two team wins from the eight races. Special congratulations to winners Vadim Pulin (Y1 Boys), Manny Thrupp (Y2 Boys), Louis Dowall (Y3 Boys) and Abby Graham (Y3 Girls) and to the Year 3 Girls and Boys teams.

Two Y7/8 Canterbury Netball Reps. and Rippa team close 4th

Netball Reps. Congratulations to Jessica and Madison Telea who were named in the Primary Sports Canterbury Year 7/8 Metro. Netball Rep team today! That is an awesome effort and they follow in the footsteps of many talented players (including many Hillview ones too!). Full team list, please click here: Final Rep Netball list 2017

Rippa Team 4th Our Year 6 Rippa team did so well today to finish 4th in Canterbury. They were 2nd in their pool, only losing one game by one point to eventual winners Paparoa Street. They had one point loss in the semi and then a one point loss to Fendalton in the 3rd/4th play-off. A super effort and oh so close to that Wellington trip! A big thanks to Mr Rochford for coaching and taking the team today.
