Josiah Barnes and Luke Mitchell competed in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships in Rotorua in the weekend. In the Year 9 Boys’ race Luke was 38th and Josiah 154th against some very tough and fast competitors. On the Sunday Luke ran the last leg for the Canterbury Year 9 Boys’ team and was able to hold off the other provinces to earn Canterbury the Gold Medal – a fantastic achievement.
