Cross Country Results

We are thankful to God that our whole school cross country went ahead today!

There were lots of super performances and eight records were broken in the 20 races! Well done especially to Sam Meecham who ran 9.58 for the 3km – over 30 seconds faster than ever run on the course!

Oliver Graves Double Swim Champion!

Hillview Sport History was made again today at the Primary Sports Canterbury Swimming Championships at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre where Oliver Graves won two titles – never before has the school won a title and today Oliver won two!

OGOliver won the 50m Freestyle for 11 year olds in 30.37sec. , just 16/100ths ahead of second but was over 3 seconds ahead of 3rd- 32 swimmers had qualified through their school and zones for the finals. Later he won the 50m Breaststroke in 42.05 seconds, over a second ahed of the 2nd place getter and more than 2 seconds ahead of third in a field of 32 qualifiers.

As well as Oliver, we had some exceptional swimming results including top 20 results from:

10 years Boys Noah Davis5th in 50m Backstroke and 12th 50m Breststroke

11 year Mixed 4 x 50m relay team were 6thMaddie Morrow, Sam Meecham, Amelia Bader and Oliver Graves

11 years Girls: Maddie Morrow8th 50m Backstroke and 13th 50m Breaststroke

9 years Boys: Elliot Graves 11th 50m Breaststroke

12 years Girls: Grace Perrett 12th 50m Breaststroke

9 years Girls: Molly-Belle Morrow 19th 50m Backstroke

Prize-Giving for all events is now on Wednesday 13 April, 1.30pm in the School Gym with Angie Petty, Olympic 800m runner.
