Secondary School Athletics Prelims Results

Well done to our Year 9-10 Athletes that competed at Rawhiti Domain in the Canterbury Secondary Schools’ Athletics Prelims. We had some exceptional results from our school –  one of Canterbury’s smallest Secondary Schools. We have had the most ever athletes qualify for finals in Hillview history, including a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in qualifying – so we are hopeful of some top three placings on Saturday. Also, two athletes – Wade Horne and Fia Lai-Kong have qualified for three individual finals or semi-finals (athletes are only able to enter three events!) – an exceptional effort.

We also had some other excellent results, including the Boys U14 4 x 100m relay team (Luke Mitchell, Andrew Black, Josiah Barnes and Wade Horne) who went under 56 seconds ( for the first time)  and beat two much bigger schools in their heat – Lincoln and Burnside High Schools.
