Secondary School Athletics Prelims Results

Well done to our Year 9-10 Athletes that competed at Rawhiti Domain in the Canterbury Secondary Schools’ Athletics Prelims. We had some exceptional results from our school –  one of Canterbury’s smallest Secondary Schools. We have had the most ever athletes qualify for finals in Hillview history, including a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in qualifying – so we are hopeful of some top three placings on Saturday. Also, two athletes – Wade Horne and Fia Lai-Kong have qualified for three individual finals or semi-finals (athletes are only able to enter three events!) – an exceptional effort.

Swimming Success at South Zones

IMG_3267Well done to all of our swimmers who swam at the South Zone Swimming Sports at Jellie Park today. Although we don’t have any official results through yet we can confirm that Hillview had some excellent performances and all students swam with excellence.

Two relay Teams through: For the first time in many years (if not the first time ever) we have had two relay teams qualify for the Primary Sports Canterbury Swimming Championships – to be held at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre in Rolleston on Thursday 7th April. Our 9 year old and 11 year old teams won their races and the 10 year olds were 2nd. We also had many individual qualifiers with Maddie and Molly Morrow each winning two races along with Oliver Graves and Noah Davis. We had many finalists and some super performances from others against some top quality competition.

We give thanks to God for some super gifts and talents on display today. A big thanks to the parents and supporters who came along and encouraged our team also. When full results come out we will publish them.
