Netballers 5th and Get2Go team competes today

Year 7/8 Netballers 5th at Koru Games

Here is a report..

Hi Everyone

Day 3 – we won 2 out of 3 games.

In total we won 9 games out of 10.  Therefore, we came 5th on the table out of 32 teams.

We lost the the quarter final against Ellesmere which was the one that counted, to enable us to go through major semifinals, then onto the Final.

Girls were really gutted, but that is pressure netball.  Girls were unsettled to begin with, and the basic mistakes made in mid court  cost us.  We lost 14-12.

Although we lost, the girls were very great at congratulating the Ellesmere team and wishing them well for the semis.  We have always had a close bond with their Ellesmere, as we have played them right through the winter season.  They were the winners of the quarter final on the day and won the Final against St Margaret’s.

A highlight for me, was the way both Fia Lai Kong (captain) and Malia Faitaua-Nainai (co-captain), lifted/carried the girls throughout the tournament, with their actions and positive words on and off the court. This behaviour was also displayed by our team towards every opposing team we played.

We had many parents, umpires and even the organisers of the tournament, come up to both Sarah and I, to let us know how impressed they were with our team
throughout the whole tournament.  It was lovely to hear.  I was so proud of the girls and so proud to represent Hillview Christian School!!   I actually had tears … hahaha.

It’s been an Awesome experience, and so loved it!  We had a fantastic time!
Blessings
