DUATHLON SUCCESS

Conratulations to LATHAM FAIRHALL who was placed 3rd in the Canterbury Seconday Schools’ Duathlon at Ruapuna on Tuesday in the Junior Under 14 Boys’ section. Latham still has another year in this grade so will be going all out to win it next year for Hillview! Well done Latham

Soccer Success

Well done to Mr Frost’s Year 7/8  Soccer B team who had their first win of the season  with a 2-0 win over St. Martins B team. James Drummond was Player of the Day. The A team had a spectatcular 8-0 victory with Jack Morrow scoring 4 goals!

Hillview Cycling Success

South Island Schools’ Cycling Champs 2 and 3 July
Latham Fairhall came 4th in the South Island  U14boys individual time trial and 10th in the U14boys 10km scratch race only five seconds behind the winner.
Also, yesterday,  Latham came 2nd by a short wheel in the D grade 8km scratch race. This is a whole grade higher than what he has been riding on most Wednesdays. Well done Latham

Primary Sports Canterbury Year 7/8 Intermediates v. Primaries Cross Country Wed. 6 July

Congratulations to Savannah Wilson who placed 6th in the Year 7 Girls’ race and is now selected in the Primary Sports Canterbury Cross country team – our second ever child selected in the team – to compete in Blenheim on 22nd September. Renzo Childs was 20th in the Year 7 Boys’ race and Bethany Walters 27th in the Year 8 Girls’ race – a brilliant effort.
